Coverage
The supplied baseline checked 107 target domains and identified 72 Shopify brands. Public catalogs were retrieved for 66, yielding 18,278 sampled product records. Six unavailable catalogs remain coverage gaps. The set is curated and does not represent the whole DTC market.
Sampling and definitions
Samples can be capped at 500 product records per storefront. “Recent” means a creation timestamp within 45 days of the scan, not a verified launch. “Deep discount” means at least 40% below a merchant-supplied compare-at price. The baseline did not record currency; numeric price bands must not be read as comparable dollar values.
Exclusions
Kith, Ring Concierge, and Burga meet the possible bulk-change rule: at least 85% recent records in a sample of at least 100. They are excluded from activity comparisons. Outerknown's sample includes resale listings. These flags describe interpretation risks, not business quality.
Change over time
One baseline does not establish a trend. Future comparisons need matched product records and consistent coverage. A newly observed record is not necessarily a launch; a missing record is not necessarily a delisting.
